Alvin, that first link didn't seem to work. Anyways, for upgrading just
the CPU (make sure your motherboard supports it first) you can sometimes
get away without doing a repair install. For upgrading both the
motherboard and the CPU, you will have to do a repair install as the IDE
Controller has changed and too many other things for XP to handle.
You said you would like to upgrade to a P4, but I highly doubt if you
have a P3 right now, that you can put a P4 in the same motherboard. I
would suggest checking with the motherboard manufacturer to see the list
of supported CPU's. You should be able to change the CPU without having
to do anything though ;)
