The BIOS might be updatable. It is possible that each slot
can only see 256 MB, so you could get a full gig with all
full, it jus might not see a single 512. Get EVEREST free
from www.lavalys.com and find out the details of your
system and the data you need to upgrade the BIOS or download
the mobo manual.
