Hi Ross,
As far as I am aware, IR is IR, there are no variants, its the protocol
that runs on the IR. I have a Nokia 6230 and could not get it to work using
the built in applications of a Windows XP system with an IR port, I think
this is due to differences of the protocol. One thing you could do is
locate other "IRDA" software on the net to use with your mobile and laptop,
such as Oxygen Phone Manager, this *may* or may *not* work, I have no idea.
But don't reply on built in softtware because it's crap!
BTW. What is your IR adapter? Is it a USB attachment? If so did it come
with sofware?
