Since the hardware is different, you cannot just swap out the harddrive.
What you can do is this: Get your new computer all set up and running
and then add the second harddrive to the IDE Cable inside the computer.
Make sure the computer is off, and your new harddrive is set to either
Master or Cable Select and your old harddrive is set to either slave or
Cable Select. Once you've installed the old harddrive in your new
computer, boot off the new harddrive and access the old harddrive from
within Windows. Copy/install any programs that you needed from your old
computer.

This computer is twice as fast as the older one I've been using for moderate audio work, recording, audio editing, CD burning, etc. There are a lot of applications on the old system with a 120 GB hard drive. Many of those programs have been upgraded over time with online downloads. The new computer has a p4 Intel 865PERL mobo, but only has an 80 GB HD. I'm not sure that I'd ever get the system reconstructed from scratch on the new computer.

Upon boot up, I get the Welcome screen, that says something to the effect of "Let's setup your computer..."At this point is the software tied to the computer? Can I swap the two drves between computers? If so, do I do a repair install? What disc do I use on the new computer with the old drive, the OEM full or the old upgade XP disc (far beyond 120 days)?
