Found New Hardware wizard continually

I have windows XP pro and decided to replace my cdrom for a DVD.
I uninstalled the driver for the CDrom, installed the new drive and up
popped the installation wizard which goes on to say it can't find the
driver.(the DVD is on the HCL) No driver required for XP....
I look into devices and see the dvdrom it says it has no problems. Which it
hasn't - all goes ok. But everytime I start XP it pops up "found new
hardware wizard."
My DVD is a liteon JLMS XJ-HD166S. I updated the drives bios.(just in case)
I replaced the drivers.cab file with the one off the XP cd in case it was
corrupt.
Someone told me to uninstall/reinstall the IDE drivers so now I get *them*
popping up as "New hardware Found" as well as the Sony CDRW - continually.
I tried to install the latest Intel Inf files but it fails with "unable to
find a necessary file:usbuhci.sys" but its there..
All is still working and not showing up as abnormal in device manager.
I'm running XP Pro sp1 latest service packs.My primary drive a Promise
Raid0 - 2 x 80Gb WD
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
