Hi,
Regarding the problem copying files from CD to Hard disk. there are several
reasons due to which file copying is slow.
1. CD has lot of scratches. (if the CD has Scratches CD drive takes lot of
time to read the CD).
2. The CD drive and Hard disk are connected to the same IDE port as master
and slave in which case both CD drive and Hard disk are using same channel
to transfer files. This problem can be solved by connecting the CD drive to
IDE 1 (there will be 2 IDE ports available in all the mother boards).
3. I am not sure if you are creating an ISO image in Nero. in Nero you save
the configuration is will save the list of files and its location in a file
which will be faster considering that it stores only the list of file names.
4. I would also recommend checking the CPU and Memory utilization on your
m/c as if any service is hanging the system will be slow. This can be
checked in task manager. (Right click on task bar and select task manager).
I hope this address the issue you have. Reply back if you need further help.
