i din't explain this good enough
1 i put on ghost the backup was ok the restore said ok when i rebooted the error was **ntldr is missing***
iput in my max blast3 disk the drives showed maxtor 80 gig the second drive was called **bios (81h) 80gig.
my maxtor as near as i can tell loads at (80h) my bios loads at (81h). my mator drive shows 3 partions 2 are ntfs and one is not formatted..-- the bios drive shows 3 partions all formatted ntfs in xp all drives are formatted....i can put ay drive in even if it has win98 and will always show the bios drive. I cannot format/partion or delete this..I think it is a virtual drive loading in my bios***I have an intel motherboard** intel won't answer how can get rid of this bios drive **before i install my new harddrive i even tried restoreing the (mbr) so how can i delete a virtual drive

If you can't delete the partition then you must have some sort of partition
manager running, as you have downloaded maxblast3 I would guess it's that.
Depending on what you want to do, one or more of the following sugestions
should get you up and running. Boot from the XP CD itself not the hard
drive. You can then go to the recovery console and delete the partition from
there. You could boot from the CD and start the installation process and
delete the partition. If you can't boot directly from the CD you can
download floppies from Microsoft that will give you the same options as
booting from the CD. As you have partition magic if you made the recovery
floppies that it comes with boot from them. You can then delete the primary
partition and create another. I'm not sure what you did when you restored
your drive to give you the error you have but once you have deleted the
primary partition along with any boot\partition manager you can restore the
partition from your Ghost backup. If you made the boot floppies that Ghost
has boot from them and you will be able to restore that drive directly from
there. If you didn't make the boot floppies from Ghost try and make them on
another computer. If that's not possable how did you run ghost the first
time? If you can run Ghost you should be able to restore the image.

Repost with anymore info if you have problems.
