Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 4 scroll problems

Hello guys,
I did some researches on google, on Microsoft web site I found nothing
as well, so now I'm asking you for help.
The problem is the following:
I own a Microsoft Intellimouse Explporer 4 and I'm experiencing a weired
problem; the vertical scroll doesn't work while moving the mouse on a
surface. Of course it works when the mouse is motionless on the plain.
More deeply the vertical scroll doesn't work, both in Windows and games,
without Intellipoint 5, while plugged into the USB port. It works
without any driver in Windows but not in games while plugged into PS/2.
With Intellipoint 5 in both cases, USB and PS/2, it works in Windows but
not in games. Now, since the vertical scroll in some way works, I think
it's a driver problem. What do you think about it?
Have you got a fix for it?
