Hi Nick,
Please forgive the intrusion here.
I have 2 WinXP PCs (Desktop and Laptop) on a network. Both connect to
the internet fine - I have a Netgear router and a wireless card for the
LT.
Both computers show and see each other. Here's the problem:
If I drag a file to the SHARED folder on the desktop I can copy the file
to the laptop. AFTER I do that I CANNOT delete the file on the desktop.
If I re-boot or go to safe mode I can delete the file. I get an error
message that another person or program may be using the file, blah,
blah.
If I drag the file to the Shared folder on the LT, I can copy it to the
desktop. After that I can delete the file from the LT, either from the
LT or the desktop with no problems at all.
How can I get the Desktop to behave as the LT does?
Thanks, Fred
