Hi all,
No one replied on my post in the MS Hardware section, so
I'll post here since I'm running XP Home.
I have a question about USB devices and hibernation. I
have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and a Logitech
Wireless laptop mouse (and a laptop, hence the Logitech
mouse's name). I noticed an interesting quirk when I put
my laptop into hibernation. If the Intellimouse is
plugged in while I go into hibernation, I can unplug it
and wake the computer without any problems, but when I
have the Logitech plugged in, and I unplug it while the
computer is hibernating, it will hang just before the
desktop appears when I wake it up. The same kind of thing
happens with my USB modem.
Does anyone know if this is what's supposed to happen or
if there's a way of getting around it. I often forget to
unplug the wireless plug until I've closed the lid of my
laptop (at which point Windows is going into
hibernation), and the only way to get back to the desktop
is to plug the wireless plug back into the same USB port.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks,
Nick
