UMAX Vista scan S6e

I have a UMAX Vista Scan s6e SCSI scanner. Windows XP
tries to install this device every time I boot up. The
scanner works just fine even though it is not installed.

Is there any way to get Windows XP to stop trying to
install this new device?

UMAX is not going to write a driver for the device
because it is old and I guess there aren't alot of these
out there. I have had this scanner for about 10 years
and I have never had a problem with it. The software
works just fine only Windows XP doesn't like having the
scanner without the driver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there anywhere I could find a driver for this scanner
other than UMAX that I could install??
