Diaxdiag is gone, but still working?

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I tried to run Dxdiag on my start --> run thing, but it says that Dxdaig did
not exist. so i tried to install it trough Microsoft's dxwebsetup.exe, but
it said that directx was already installed and updated. I dont know what
happened. I went to msconfig because I recently undid some services, <--
maybe that is the problem. WHat services does Dxdiag run on? also anyone know
the solution to this probelm?
directx worked fine until about a week ago..
