Question,:: Which dimwit was given the job/employment to come up with
the name??
How much was said dimwit paid? I would have done it for 10 bucks.

Interesting article! Good thing they called it NT since Windows 3.1 wasn't
NT, but NT was code versioned Windows 3.1? Thank goodness THAT'S not
confusing. Read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT for even more
confusion/clarity.

OK, I read the wikipedia article and got even more confused! But I'm
still searching for the 'clarity' part! :) According to them, Windows
7 should be Windows 6.1 ??? Hell, I don't see a problem with naming
them by year/date. Seems that would save a lot of confusion and worked
fairly well in the past.

It's a Zen thing. Once you are so confused that you can't stand, clarity will come. . . ohmmmmmmmmm ;-)

I agree that the date convention was fine. It's not like any company is going to come out with a new OS more than once a year.
