Hope this is the correct NewsGroup in which to ask this. Asked a===============================
dr. for a copy of my x-rays, which his girl put on a CD for me. She
checked it and read it OK. I tried it at home, and (there were 4
.tif files) got the error message (It tried to open in Windows
Picture & Fax Viewer) "drawing failed". Am I doing something wrong? Or is
it the CD? (Although it opened for the girl in the office??)
I've seen this error before but have never
seen a dependable solution.
You can force a reinstall of Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer with the following command
but there's no guarantee that it will make a
difference.
Go to...Start / Run and type
(or copy/paste):
regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll
(yes, the space after the 2 and the space
after the i is required)
Press...Enter...
You should see a dialog box that says:
'DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in shimgvw.dll
succeeded'
My suggestion would be to download and
install the freeware IrfanView and use it to
view the TIFF files.
