Re: security center missing

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Having had a close look over everything is equivalent to scraping the dirt
off your gutter sandwich. You still don't know what's inside and why the
Security Centre icon is missing. It's a risky game you're playing.

The missing icon is based on the file c:\Windows\System32\wscui.cpl. AFAIK,
this applet gets generated at install time. I do not know how regenerate it.
Maybe copying it from another machine will do the trick.

my security center is missing inside of my control panel. bought the pc
2nd
hand. has windows xp pro. any help will be great.

Your PC might be infected with all sorts of nasty things. It's like an
sandwich you picked up from the gutter. Would you eat it? Best to format
the
hard disk and reload Windows.
