(this message was posted to another group in error... sorry)
a contination of my previous post...
After making some adjusments to XP SP3 when the computer boots up I now get
an error message "Unable to log you on because of an account restriction", I
click "okay" (my only choice) and a log-in screen appears with
"Administrator" as the user name & it asks for a password. There is no
password. I booted up in the Safe Mode and verified there are no passwords.
This is a one user system and there are no passwords for either
"administrator" or myself (administrator priveledges). I do not want to go
through any log-in proceedure at boot up or any other time.
Login are still required even in Safe Mode. So just how did you login
under Safe Mode? Those login credentials would be the same ones you use
in normal mode. How was it that you verified in Safe Mode that there
are no passwords (on the Windows accounts) unless you manage to actually
login?
The safe mode simply did not ask me to log-in, there was no mention of it what so ever. I did it that way at the suggestion of another respondent to my prevoius post.
("Help needed asap... on 7/18 6:09 pm). I started a seperate post because the problem had changed slightly.
