after selecting one or more pictures to be emailed i'm asked if i want to resize them,
i agree to this and it appears to perform this, but instead of opening my email (thunderbird), it just stays at the windows picture and fax viewer screen.
any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bruce,

Make sure TB checks to make itself the default (Tools, Options, under System Defaults). Also check "Set Program Access & Defaults" in Windows. MS has a way with resetting the mail client when updates are installed.

Report back,

Terry R.
tb now checks to be sure it is the default, and windows still says my current
client (tb) is default. but still no progress on the problem of opening my email.
Did this work before?

Read this:

You could try a System Restore if you remember when it worked last. Not the best fix, but it may help you monitor any further updates that may have hosed the feature.

did a system restore to back about two weeks, everything back to normal. next day thunderbird needs to update to 2.0.0.22 and my problem returns. can't
block the update process, so i keep restoring.

In TB, Tools, Options, Advanced, Update. Uncheck the options.

I use the Powertoy Image Resizer. You may want to Google and see if it works for you.
