Split Screen

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi I have XP and my monitor went so i'm using a smaller one and the display
setting is 800x600 when I start the computer and its loading everything is
fine then when it gets to the desktop there is a big line down the middle of
the screen and the desk top is split how do i fix that Please
