I get this error message when i log into windows, it says

the system's registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate
copy. The recovery was successful

But it says this every time i log in,
I have tryed sfc /scannow but as i running a OEM version of windows this
does help

any info would be Great
thanks for you time

That is not the entire message, is it?

This can be caused by a hardware problem (disk or RAM), or most likely
a defective ntuser.dat file.

The ntuser.dat file is the part of the registry containing the
information for a particular user (HKCU). Every user has a different
one.

It is possible to generate or repair an ntuser.dat file for a user,
but you should try simpler things first.

You can let XP check/fix your hard drive for errors from the Tools
menu of the Properties page of your disk(s). I think defective RAM
would cause a different message.
