Not really. I get no error messages at all other than View Available
Networks complaining that the service isn't running. Linksys did
install its own manager, but I disabled it.

I don't know why. But when it does, it takes me a while to figure out
that's what happened, restart it, and reconnect to the network. Today
when it happened, I had to reboot. The service restarted just fine.
But I still couldn't connect to the network.

Maybe this will help:

I know for certain that is other WLAN adapter manufacturer's wireless
network configuration manager software do get a shortcut installed
into the "Startup" folder. Once these softwares start up, the WZC
service gets turned off, even though the service is set to
automatically start.

You may need ti set the Linksys Management console service to "manual"
and re-start WZC service.

I have a Linksys USB wireless adapter and it installs the following
service:

"C:\Program Files\Linksys\WUSB300N\WLService.exe" "WUSB300N.exe"

Not sure if it is the same across the entire line of wireless adapters.
