Re: User Accounts and Welcome Screen

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

kaiwei,
I really doubt that a virus has caused this. Though, I don't
know quite why this has happened, it may be that in re-naming your account
that another user account has been created with the old name. Look in your
"C:\Documents and Settings" folder for folders bearing the names you are
familiar with. Delete the entire folder with the name you are NOT using and
leave the folder with the name you ARE using.

Hi All,
I'm using a Dell XPSM1210. I have a problem with my start up screen and
the
user accounts. When I first installed XP, I used the username "1st
Account"
and password xxx. Then I changed my username to "Study" from User Accounts
in
the Control Panel, the password stayed the same.

The problem occurs when I start up the system and come to the welcome
screen. There are now 2 times password entries. 1 for the traditional XP
welcome screen which is username "Study" and 1 for a Microsoft Network
which
is for "1st Account".

Is there a virus in my system or is this some sort of update error?
