Hi Malke,
I've been looking for a group for discussion of pure DOS
topics, the one (on this server "msnews.microsoft.com") here seems to be
inactive (microsoft.public.win95.msdosapps) and is the only one that has
been cited as appropriate for [pure] DOS discussions. Is there another news
server you know of with a group on it that might meet my request? I have
looked through google, etc. but, can't seem to find the information I'm
looking for (keep getting referred to web-groups) I just want the name of a
news-server so I can enter it into OE and browse for the appropriate group.
What server is "alt.msdos.batch.nt" on? Is this a group I can access/reply
to with OE or is it web-based only? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey guys, I apologized if my topic is off the chart. But I have always
been wondering why there is a need for a page rank in a site? I have
always been curious about this one. Care to elaborate, anyone please?
You can Google "page rank" but you should know that you are not posting on
a
real forum as you think you are. You are using a web interface that
leeches
Usenet posts and most of the rest of us are using real newsreaders. We
don't see what you do. If you want to participate in Usenet, the better
way
is to set up a newsreader. This is very easy to do and I'll give you
information about that below. If you prefer to use a forum, then here are
two excellent ones:

Since you are using a web interface, you may not realize that this is
really
a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn to
use
a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use
Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have it.
