I currently use Win 2000 for my OS, I want to change to XP. If I nstall XP
over Win 2000 what happens to the other files?
George
Which other files? Your data?
Back up your data before doing any such upgrade. Upgrades often go well,
but things can go wrong.
You may have better options. A Win2K computer is about 8 years old. You
can find, for around $200, a pentium 4 3gHz brand-name system, with a DVD
drive (not burner), 40 gig SATA drive, and 512+ meg RAM (expandable to 4) ,
AND with a valid XP license. No monitor. Now, you need to be careful
when shopping for these as some won't come with the disks you do actually
need, but many do.
This should yield a much better result than upgrading your old system.
