Re: Unable to access microsoft.com

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

WinXP SP1 hasn't been supported since October 2006.

You've got a VERY bad hijackware infection, primarily because the machine has been patch in well over eight (8) years. You cannot use Windows Update unless WinXP SP2 or SP3 is installed so you can't get the machine fully patched in its current state.

PS: Most antivirus applications will not work properly unless WinXP SP2 or SP3 is installed.

The only & most efficient way to resolve your problem is to format & reinstall Windows. After doing so, you'll have the equivalent of a "new computer" so see...

I have tried running Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and Spybot.
They did not work. Thanks for your help though. Hijack this is a
little too much for me.

Then you may wish to give a bit more information on your problem.

For example...

- What AntiVirus application are you currently running?
- What specific operating system at what service pack level?
- Web browser(s) you have available to use...
- Do they all exhibit the same issue?
- If the machine has multiple accounts - do all accounts act in the same
manner?
- What type of Internet connection do you have?
