Nope, about the same, takes just as long, requires as many updates.
Wrong, it takes under and hour for me to install Ubuntu with all the programs I want, tweaking and updates. XP takes a lot longer.
does not support as much current hardware,False, it supports MOST current hardware.
Nope, an entire vendors products are mostly unsupported - that's an entire printer line almost completely unsupported, and that's not including the other vendors that sell multifunction printers that are not supported.
So buy a Linux friendly printer and stop whining. The ink is the real cost, not the machine.
does not provide the same level of programs that you would access on a Windows computer,Yeah, especially WPA, WGA, WGA/N and a whole host of millions of malware. For programs like Photoshop, they run great in Wine.
Nope, Wine is slower than native XP. WPA/WGA mean nothing as they don't bother 99% of the people, they are silent and in the background.
A friend who makes a living using Photoshop disagrees with you. I don't use it myself so I went to an expert. If being accused of piracy over and over again and having to prove you're not a pirate doesn't bother you, perhaps you should see a brainwashing removal specialist. I notice you say nothing about my comment regarding malware.
It's about impossible to find boxed Linux products at computer stores or office-supply stores, so that leaves people trying to find them online and not knowing if they are legit or flawed.
You haven't looked very well. Try Walmart's web site or NewEgg or even Best Buy. That said, in Europe, it's available at ALL computer stores.
and it's not kid friendly - meaning that many games kids play don't run on it.It IS kid friendly in that it's bullet proof compared to Windows in regards to malware. The kids are playing games on Wii, XBox and Playstation.
Nope, you have no experience in this area - many online games do not work on Linux, period.
Name one.
The only advantage that Linux has over Windows is that it's not been targeted by malware attacks as windows has - but there are many compromised linux machines being owned/run by people that are the ignorant masses you are lying too. It's easy to root a linux computer that has been setup by the ignorant that believe what you've told them. You would have to have physical access to the computer to compromise it the way I set them up. There are NO viruses or malware in the wild for Linux. NONE. OTOH, Windows has so many that no one can count the millions of malware out there.
Wrong again, because you condition your statement with "The way I set them up", but you're preaching Linux to the ignorant masses and you don't set them up for them. So the typical user will setup as root or a root level account, will install more things than they need, and will connect directly to the internet instead of using a NAT router as a barrier - this means that they ARE offering connections to anyone and with no understanding of security, with no understanding of Linux, they are shown to be easy to compromise because of their ignorance and because of zealots like you.
Unlike you, my email is available and anyone that reads my posts here can contact me. In addition, when you open Firefox, you can click on a link to HELP. It's obvious you've never installed Ubuntu by your stupid and ill informed comments.
Additionally, your post serves no assistance to anyone in these groups. There is nothing Noble about being off-topic.Suggesting an alternative to the buggy and malware prone Windows is ON TOPIC and a topic you need to get over and get used to because this is just the beginning.
No, not buggy, very stable, works well, not any more malware prone than an improperly secured Linux box.
A lie.
Been using Windows since it came out, never had a compromise, never found it to be buggy - apps are buggy, but the same is very true of open-source products.
Another lie.
I can count the number of down-time issues that were cause by a MS bug on two hands in all my years. I can could the number of faulted system using Ubuntu on two hands also, and that it's been less than 2 years for those faults on Ubuntu means something vs the decades on Windows.
More lies. Ho hum.
