Re: openning a non accessible folder

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

OK, on Home Edition you need to logon in "Safe Mode". Restart the computer
and as the restart begins, start taping F8 (+/- 1 tap/second) untill the
start mode options list appears, and select Safe Mode. After logon go
directly to folder Properties\Security. This difference between XP Pro and
Home is detailed in the KB article (that's why I didn't mention it).

In folder Properties\Security\.. do you see any user or the
administrators
group there?, if nothing, click on Add\Avanced\Search now\select
"Administrators"\click OK on every box and Apply button on the last box
if
letters are higlighted. Next go back and check if the administrators
group
is now there.

You can also apply the default security permissions by checking both
boxes
in the Permissions tab, Apply and OK.

If you still haven't succeeded scan the computer for possible
infection...
use your antivirus and antimalware applications... Malwarebytres
Anti-Malware and A Squared Free are excellent for detecting all kinds of
malware including trojans and viruses.
