Windows Defender and Spybot are both Antispyware applications. Do you have
any installed Antivirus? If not, check your system for virus infections with

Can you download and apply Svc Pak 3 from FailSafe mode ?

I cannot get laptop to run fully in normal full user mode - the cursor
just totally freezes up and no keyboard keys work either - end up
hitting the Pwr button.

Im thinking maybe the newer Svc pak 3 will overlay and fix/fillin any
corrupt or missing windows xp files ...

Are the Srvc pak that smart ? Will it do this like Im thinking ?
