Win XP Pro.
I cannot get recent downloaded screen saver to function.
It is the Harvey Nichols one.
It shows in Display properties as "Hn screen saver" (among others) and
shows on screen when Preview is selected.
I have selected Apply and OK many times.
It has not responded, and when I check Display properties again
"none" is
always shown as the option.
Could Zone Alarm be the culprit?
How can I fix this?
That screen saver uses Flash. Do you have that disabled? If you did, I
suppose the Preview wouldn't work either. Though I don't have a
solution, I have an observation: It causes the fan on my graphics card
to work overtime: not my idea of a good idle process.
Since your selection isn't remembered, I would suspect that you got a
bad download; try downloading it again. Or, see if other screen savers
can be selected.. maybe some software is blocking any change. Tea Timer
prompted me before allowing the registry change; maybe ZA is doing the
same thing.
Thanks for prompt input.
I'm not sure if Flash is disabled. Where will I find it ?
I have downloaded several times.
All other Savers work OK
It's not an important subject, so I'll probably just delete if there's
not a quick fix.

There are really no settings, just a Flash window, when you click the
Settings button. You might try repairing Flash:
- Open Internet Properties.
- On the General tab page, click the "Settings" button.
- Click "View Objects".
- Right-click the "Shockwave Flash Object".
- Click Update. If no results, click Remove. It should be reinstalled
as needed. A damaged component is doing no good.
