I am using FireFox 3.0.4 for web browsing. Recently while I am browsing
the internet, there are pop up about the
'Anti Virus 2009' advertisement pop up again and again, the pop up header
is Internet Explorer.
Why the pop up is IE while I am using FireFox?

I would guess there are spyware installed on my computer and this had
happened. I used the Lavasoft's Ad-Aware 2008 to clear these stuffs
before, so I will also use that to remove the spyware. I recall my memory
I needed to run this tools for 2 weeks to get rid of the spywares.

There seems to be a spate of these pop ups appearing on PCs at the present
time. The window has been authored to appear as though it is on Internet
Explorer (and it erroneously indicates the same thing on Firefox, and
presumably everything else).

In case anyone has missed the essential message: ignore the warning and *do
not* download Anti Virus 2009. It is a key logging trojan that steals
passwords, credit card details etc. and reports them back to its
originators. I have seen reports that there are several versions of the pop
up window including one or some where clicking *anywhere* in the window
(including the red 'X') starts the download process. Close your browser and
then stop the pop up through Task Manager.
