The wireless card may be overheating.. is it a USB dongle? Some USB
models tend to overheat. You might try a different brand as a test.

Or, if your wireless card is drawing too much current, that could
cause
it to overload the PS (power supply). If it's USB, try a powered USB
hub; that would prevent the extra load on the PS.


I had a similar problem with my vista laptop's signal
seemingly getting weaker, I put it down to interference
so I changed the channel on the router and the problem was
sorted.

That sounds like a good one.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try changing the channel first and
then if that doesn't work I'll proceed with the other suggestions.

I'm using a D-Link DWA-130 Wireless N USB Adapter. Would that apply?
Because so far, none of the other suggestions I've received have
worked. I've sent an email to "D-Link" but so far have not received
an answer.


Probably. I can't say for sure, but my CardBus wireless adaptor has that
setting. Right click on your adaptor in Device Manager, select Properties,
and see what you find (look for power saving or reduced power mode options).
