One thing check for Windows Search 4.0 installed on your system. It can have
that effect.

I'm having trouble creating a new folder in My Computer or on the desktop.
By
either right clicking or going to File, New, the arrow turns into an
hourglass and locks up for at least a minute, then it will give the
dropdown
to create a new folder, then I can create one.... any idea on solving
this...
.
