Hello, would someone kindly tell me what is the best way to back up My Documents into my
4GB flash drive? I have WinXP. Tried dragging but not sure if it was right. Was told to drag one or a few at a time but with so many files and folders it would take forever. I prefer not to use a software as my computer is old (still kicking) and it can't take more memory.

Is this the right way?:

Opened Windows Explorer. On 1st column I highlighted "My Documents", and under "My Computer" I found my flash drive. On the 2nd column I highlighted all of My Documents and dragged them to the drive... Also, while transferring the files it would say: WYX to WYX...as if it were copying the same folder... (?)

Thanks so very much! :o) Adela

Hi Adela,

While it's good for a temporary backup, don't depend on a flash drive for anything you value. They can randomly lose all data or die completely. I recommend an external drive and/or DVD backup in addition to the flash drive. One backup isn't enough.
