Mass Coruption with Downloaded Installations

As of December 6th, 2008 I formatted my hard drive. I install Windows XP
professional 32bit. Any file I download, be it a Microsoft Installation, or
another "Winamp", I get corruption errors. Archived files, such as add-on's
for FireFox, Winamp, and Photoshop are corrupted. My question is simple, how
do I fix this issue? It has haunted me for months. If computer specs are
needed, I can post them.
Sincerely,
Thomas Bussell
