Jeff, I was wondering the same about the onecarelive and the registry
question.
So far I've tried the symantec security check and trend micro house calls,
neither of those would fully download. Panda did fully download and found
nothing.
Now I'm trying onecarelive and it doesn't seem to be fully downloading
either, am on my 3-4th try with it and keep getting an error message to try
later.

I do have and use MBAM and SAS on here in addition to Webroot spysweeper (
as mentioned before) and zone alarm.
I had written here a month or so ago that Avast had found trojans in two
places, I think it was my registry and system restore. I put them in my
virus chest and there they sit for I was not able to " fix" them per avast.
Robear , I think you may be right.
Perhaps the damage has been done preventing me from downloading these other
checks and fixes?!
What about the McAfee remote virus fix they offer, ( can't find good
computer repair help around here) would that be worth a try and would it
take care of registry and restore " bugs"?

Am using Avast but want to check out my computer via another service
also.
Have webroot spysweeper and it just added antivirus onto my service for
free.
If I download the virus definitions part and run it, should I
temporarily
shut down or remove avast totally before trying the webroot spysweeper
antivirus program ?

I've tried to use the McAfee free online virus scanner but it just is not
loading for me for some reason .
