Hi all,
In addition: I have found as of late this gets cleared up after installing SP2. Either way, see if lines 338 and 400 helps: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Recently I was forced to rebuild my WinXP Pro system and shortly after that most of my USB ports failed to work. I have a MSI Mother Board P6N SLI Platinum, I'm using the built-in RAID 5 for a three drive 1.8TB and a 3ware RAID5 for another 1.8TB. The boot drive is a 250GB IDE, on the forth channel of the built-in SATA controller I have a 1TB work drive. As a test I have another 250GB IDE drive on second IDE controller with my CD/DVD drive. All of the internal drives seem to work OK. The MB has two front USB ports and four back ports, I've added two-five port USB adapter cards. Before the rebuild for the most part all of the USB ports worked, since the rebuild 99% of the time when I plug a USB device (external HD or thumb drive) I don't see the device and when I look in the device manager there are no errors. If I plug the device into another computer I can use it. Any suggestions to get the USB ports working?
