I have two computers, both with Windows XP SP-3. On one computer, when I plug in the device to a USB port, the OS chimes and nothing else happens. I am able to immediately open My Computer, open the Removeable Device and go on about my business. On the other computer, when I plug in the same device, the OS chimes and then the computer is locked up for about 1-2 minutes, after which the device is opened in Windows Explorer. I much prefer the first behavior. Can anyone tell me what is causing this difference in behavior?

In the computer where the USB device opens in Windows Explorer, double-
click on My Computer. Highlight and right click on the icon for the USB
device. Under Properties in Autoplay, scroll down to Mixed Content. Mark
the "Select an action to perform" circle and highlight Take no aciton.
Finally, click on Apply. This should configure the USB device to not
open up in Windows Explorer when it is inserted.
