If your Windows is preinstalled when you bought your PC, the OEM
Windows CD-ROM should have been part of the package. You may want to
ask about it to the seller.

In the mean time, you can use the setup boot floppies downloadable
from below link.

If you don't have floppy drives, you can try using trial Windows XP CD-
ROM. But unfortunately, I couldn't find any download links for it.

Your current state is really bad. It'll be impossible to repair
without any access to the harddisk files (assuming you are using
NTFS). You might come accross a DOS program or Linux system that can
access NTFS partitions, but these may damage the security attributes
of each modified files/directories. They should only be used when no
Microsoft-based resources are available.

Regardless of what the outcome is, you will ultimately need the
Windows XP CD-ROM if you want to repair it. Otherwise, other thing you
can do are:

- Bring your PC to the store where you bought it (and ask about the
Windows CD-ROM) to repair the OS WITHOUT loosing all of your important
files. There will be service fee for that.
- Ask Microsoft for a CD-ROM replacement (and cross your fingers).
IMO, Microsoft staffs might point you to ask to your seller instead.
- Bid farewell to your old system and buy the cheapest Windows XP
version.

an XP CD rom, instead it was pre-installed. I do have System recovery disc's
but those will erase the entire HDD, and put the machine back to original

boot using the Windows XP CD-ROM and choose Recovery Console. You'll

message should be different time time, if it does occurs.
