I have an issue with one of our new computers. It is a Dell P4
1gb ram, 2.8 ghz and is on a network. For the last couple weeks
the client is complaining that it takes a long time to open windws
explorer, once in it is then slow for the first few folders
clicked and then seems ok. It actually takes about 40-60 seconds
to open explorer. As i mentioned it is a new machine so shouldnt
have much crap on it to bog it down. I have 2 other machines
exactly the same that dont seem to have this issue. Any ideas on
how to fix this or what to look for?
If there are any mapped drives that are unavailable, this could cause
the delay, as Windows tries repeatedly to connect.
As could indexing if it was just recently turned on.
As soon as I disconnected it it is fast again. Appreciate the help would
not have thought of thats.
