RE: XP 'hangs' at shut down

scan for viruses, and spyware and all that nasty stuff. If it still doesnt
work, try running XP in a repair install.

When shutting down, pc starts to shut down normally, goes to black screen,
and then starts over with ssaving settings, shutting down, etc. and is taking
much longer than normal to shut down even at this point. I only see two
errors in the Events Log, and the time frame is not corresponding to the time
that I shut down my pc.

Red warning in Event Log says: "Service Control Manager"....
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
SASKUTIL

The above link does not work!

The yellow warning has to do with Windows Defender:

Windows Defender Real-Time Protection agent has detected changes. Microsoft
recommends you analyze the software that made these changes for potential
risks. You can use information about how these programs operate to choose
whether to allow them to run or remove them from your computer. Allow
changes only if you trust the program or the software publisher. Windows
Defender can't undo changes that you allow.

This link only takes me to Windows Defender Homepage of Microsoft.

I have thought about ending the process for Windows Defnder before shut
down, to see if that is the cause, but can't figure out how to do that even.

I could really use some help.... I don't have a clue what to do next and my
computer skills for troubleshooting are limited at best. Thank you.
