Re: Startup Error

You will need to go to c:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\MSMAPI32.DLL and delete or rename the file.

Once that is done, launch Outlook . Reconfigure your mail settings and everything should be good to go.

The file may also be located in c:\winnt\system32. There may be a backed up version of it that you can restore.

Do not under any circumstances download this file from the Internet. This is most likely a virus.

I am getting an error on startup after doing windows update. Never saw this
before.

The ordinal 49 could not be located in the dynamic link library MAPI32.dll

Looking on the Web, it seems that if you run Fixmapi.exe, this should fix
it. It doesn't on my machine. Doesn't seem to do anything - just goes
right back to a command prompt.

I have 3 Mapi files:

MAPI32.000 that is 110KB
MAPI32.DLL that is 145K
MAPI.DLL that is 81K

What happened here?

How can I fix this?

Thanks,

Tom
