Go to this web site:.

Download and run the registry edit on line 285, right hand side,
"Restore all display tabs".
Once you've got the Desktop tab restored, click on the "Customize
Desktop" button. Click on the Web tab. Delete any entries other
than "My Current Home Page".

My system was recently inflitrated with the
Trojan.Desktophijack virus. I was
able to clense the system of the virus and return almost
everything to
normal. However, I'm not able to set any new desktop
backgrounds. I can't set
desktop backgrounds from an active picture. I don't get the
option to set
desktop backgrounds when I right click on the background >
properties. All
that shows up is the display (Screen Saver and Settings)
options. Does anyone
know how to restore the desktop background option?
