Hi, hoping this is in the right catagory,
ok, when a program puts a shortcut on the desktop, if I go to delete it
by
right clicking or even just highlighting & hitting delete on the keyboard
the
computer just stops responding, get a message saying 'windows explorer
has
stopped working' & that it is trying to find a solution which it doesnt,
just
goes blank then comes back to desktop like its reloading. (if I put
something
on the desktop I can delete it, just seems to be shortcuts, even ones I
have
put on)
hope you can understand what I am saying & that you are able to help.
Thanks

No, of course it's not the right category for this group - this is an XP
group, as its title indicates, and you know your problem is with Vista.
Why would you choose this one rather than one with Vista in the title, eg
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general?
As has been frequently noted here and elsewhere, for some reason, the vista
groups are not universally accessible. Thus many vista users are thus
forced to post their problems in the nearest available group which often
happens to be this one. I, also, cannot access any of the vista groups.
