I don't lie, weasel. Unless I really must, of course. But in this case I
have no reason to. What, to impress you? Certainly not anything that
particularly impressed me, just happened to be a handy riposte.
Besides, it's probably top secret. I shouldn't even have mentioned it. Hope
I fuzzed the edges enough. Think I'll get canned?

ROFL! And you thinku that's still where I live. IDIOT! You can't even do
a decent job of simple research. Of course, you know that others ARE
capable of such research, which is why you hide behind one of the
stupidest sigs ever invented. Otherwise, it's quite likely that somebody
you piss off will come to your place and make it personal. (No, not me.
If I were that kind of person, you'd be WAY down the list.)Chickensquirt,
that's what you are.
ROFLMAO! You still don't know anything about the MVP Program, really.
Because you lack the faculty called "critical thinking". Blame your
mother for that one, too.
But there's no laughing about total losers like you claiming to know
anything about computers. That's a crime, pure an simple, one called
"fraud", just to start with, and much worse depending on who you manage
to convince that you know anything at all, much less about computers.
As for your link, that's REALLY HILARIOUS, <BG>, seeing as I just got an
email from the MVP Program stating exactly the opposite. Just what part
of those three paragraphs do you think I don't live up to? Quote them
here. Or did you fail "quoting text" in freshman English (or did you even
go to school?)

Mr. Gary S. Terhune
Primary Profile:
Back in the winter of '99, I got snowed in, trapped in my tiny
travel trailer. So I was playing around a lot with Windows 98, tearing
it apart and then rebuilding it. I found IE5 beta and installed it, then
reinstalled it, reinstalled the whole system, etc., etc. Finally, I had
it down to two problems, so I went looking for the answers. Found the
IE5 beta newsgroup, asked my questions, waited 20 minutes for the
answers (good ones), and while I waited, I answered a few others. Well,
I was hooked. Made the Win98 groups my home and I've lived there ever
since, though I now visit almost all Windows groups except Vista.
-----------
based on your unprofessionalism
it is not within you to uphold the
standards here:
https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/gp/mvpintro
many of us have long been
involved with computers
and programming by the
time you began playing
with win98.
your disrespectfullness
is not appreciated.

1) Microsoft is the absolute
source of information pertaining
to windows. all others is secondary.
That's a total crock, Idiot.
2) their registry cleaner is a free
online safety scanner, therefore
there is no marketing or selling.
Here is is in words of two sylables, max, so maybe you'll understand
Idiot:
Free Windows tools equals "good will", equals more sales equals more
money. Got it?
3) the fact is that the registry can be
cleaned and defrag'd. therefore, it
can be done at the discretion and
convenience of each windows user.
Fact is that they are sold (or given away for reasons selfless and not
at all selfless) as ways for "AVERAGE USERS" to "tune up or
fix their PCs. Fact is, they do nothing of the sort. It's a HUGE
LIE!!!
Of course, you're no dobt one of those people who claims caveat
emptor". Well, when you SELL crap by making TOTALLY BOGUS CLAIMS,
that amounts to FRAUD!
Of course every user has the right to do what they want to their
computer. This discussion isn't about that. It's about whether
OneCare Registry Cleaner is bogus, dangerous crap or not. It is.
4) To utilize your argument:
Russinovich skill levels do not match
those of the software engineers that
created the One Care system.
ROTFLMAO!!!!! THAT is a TOTAL load of BS! Those OneCare programmers
don't even come close to the skill levels of most of the rest
of Microsoft's programmers, let alone those of Russinovich.
In fact if Russinovich believed the
registry should be left alone, he
should not have created a utility
to defrag the registry hive.
You just can't help showing how stupid youu are, can you? Russinovich
says nothing in teh referenced articles about defragmenting
the Registry, he only speaks of "cleaning" the Resistry. Where does
your stupidity enter into it? Where you can't tell the
difference between those two entirely different topics.

Hi
My XP machinces are running slower then usual. I intalled XP 6
months
ago and now users are complaining that their machines are working
slower then normal. I reinstalled the Win XP on one of the
computer
and this computer is working normally. We have not made any
changes
on our network and we have not installed any new software on the
client computers. These machines are completely clean.
How do you know that?
Has any one encoutered this kind of problem?
There are very problems that are unique to a single user. I've
never
personally experienced it on any of my XP machines, though.
Does XP become slower over the time?
No.
Do we need to reinstall it after some time?
No.
Secondly, Can anyone recommend good registry cleaner and system
cleaner software to tune up my xp machine?
There is no such thing as a "good registry cleaner" or good
"system
cleaner software." Registry cleaning programs are *all* snake oil.
Cleaning of the registry isn't needed and is dangerous. Leave the
registry alone and don't use any registry cleaner. Despite what
many
people think, and what vendors of registry cleaning software try
to
convince you of, having unused registry entries doesn't really
hurt
you.

Seems MS disagrees..
Microsoft is a company made up of many thousands of different
people, with different skill levels, different strengths,
different weaknesses, and different responsibilities. They certainly
don't all have the same views on everything. Those people
with responsibility for marketing of software may disagree, because
their interest is selling you software that does this, but
Mark Russinovich, one of the most respected technical names at
Microsoft, happens to agree that registry cleaners should *not*
be used.
I'm not using my home computer at the moment, and don't have a link
handy to the page in which Russinovich talks about this
subject, but I hope someone else here will post it.
