Domain Name System is the process for translating URL ( Universal
Resource Locator ) into their respective IP Address. Your ISP has
it's
own DNS servers. OpenDNS is a service that provides an alternate
DNS service ( with filtering ). Instead of using the default DNS
servers
of your ISP you substitute the OpenDNS servers. You do this by
overriding the Automatic DNS server setup of your NIC and adding
the two OpenDNS IP addresses as manual assignments.
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
It's normal to designate both a Primary and Secondary (Backup) DNS
server.
More information on OpenDNS found here:

You need to explain this in more detail I have imputted the below ip
Addresses etc and I can't access any website...... now
Try this:
Start | Control Panel | Network Connections
Right-click your connection (e.g., Local Area Connection if you have an
Ethernet connection for Broadband). You never stated how you connect to
the Internet, so I'm just guessing. Better yet, how *do* you connect?)
and select Properties. You'll see a window with the following entry:
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Highlight it and select Properties.
If you are *not* automatically obtaining a DNS server address (that is,
if "Use the following DNS server addresses" item is selected). then
simply input those two addresses R. McCarty gave you. Click OK.
I would also close Internet Explorer amd clear out your Temporary
Internet Files. If you have IE7, do this:
Start | Control Panel | Internet Options | Browsing History Delete
Yuo only need to click the top two buttons: Temporary Internet Files and
Cookies. Close and click OK. Start your browser again and try accessing
the Web site again.
