Help! Have been digging deep into wife's computer and am stumped.
She is running Windows XP on a Toshiba Satellite.
She unfortunately got stuck with Vista Virus 2008 (i think that's what it
was) It kept popping up windows and blocking all attempts to remove. I ran
Spybot and Ad-Aware and finally SmitfraudFix. Nothing worked so I eventually
used system restore to reset the computer to two weeks prior.
Since then, however, I have not been able to connect to the internet.
We use a wireless router and cable modem and it shows them all connected and
other computers in the house are able to connect.
When I dug into System Information I see the following message post whenever
I open Firefox (default browser) or Internet Explorer:
*The IP address lease 192.168.1.100 for the Network Card with network
address 0011F5A7854B has been
denied by the DHCP server 192.168.1.1 (The DHCP Server send a DHCPNACK
message).
a:*
I'm totally lost!
From similar questions I can tell you that address is assigned by DHCP
Anyone able to solve this? Need more info?
All help greatly appreciated...
