RE: LOSE INTERNET CONNECTIVITION IF AV SOFTWARE IS INHSTALLED

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I don't see how unistalling Norton and connectivity would be related. You
mentioned the registry. If you did anything to the regisrty any changes that
could cause serious problems. I wish I could solve this one for you but I
cant. I can tell you one possible solution. Since you are a newbie and this
issue sounds very complex I would shell out $60 to Microsoft tech support at
800-microsoft and in the future never mess with the registrry.

As a computer newbie short on knowledge I went through quite a wrestling
match to remove NIS 2007 after 4 prolonged, frustrating attempts to renew a
Norton subscription and download a large upgrade failed. I'm very confident
all traces of Norton have been finally purged from my registry.

After clumsily reviving my computer in safe mode I now can connect to the
Internet ONLY WITHOUT AN ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM. It's not my firewall settings or
, at least I 'm completely stumped as to how it could be. I've installed with
apparent success trend Micro Intern et security.AFTER RECEIVING
CONGRATULATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION my internet connection is LOST!!

I must then Uninstall the anti virus software to restore inhternet
connectivity. How in the world is the installation of an antivirus program
causing the loss of internet connectivity???

I'm puzzle. Any help on how to remedy for me what is a perplexing riddle
would be greatly appreciated!!!Many thanks to the big footed, clumsy
Symantec dinosuar
that is hopefully near extinction for making this unlikely problem possible.

Best of luck to everyone and may your computer be a source of pleasure and
education , not a tool of torure, confusion and agony.
