Ron, did as you said and both boxes are grayed out!
An error message came up saying a recently installed program caused an error
then something about msGina.dll.
Looks like this will have to be researched.

When you open User Accounts in the CP, do you see the Pick a Task area?
If you do, click on Change an Account and follow the on screen prompts.

When XP2 was initially setup, it was setup so I did not have to type a
password on boot. XP simply went to the desktop. Now I'm wondering how to
turn the password requirement back on!
Went to control panel, user accounts. Only two accounts, me & guest
(which is off). Noticed Welcome Screen and fast user switching is off
also (I recall setting them this way upon install). Didn't see any switch
to prompt for PW at boot so .... how does one turn on/off the password
requirement?
