Re: Sign-in userid confusion

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,

To restore: Right click My Network Places and select Properties. Right click the Internet connection in question, or LAN connection, and select Properties. On the Networking tab, This connection uses...highlight Client Services for Netware and select Uninstall.

Once done, Control Panel/User Accounts/Change the way users log on....

Added info: Restore the Welcome Screen (Line 45) right hand side:

This is very confusing. Due to some software I installed, my windows
login screen reverted to the "classic" sign-in, where one inputs a
name and a password in a little pop-up, as opposed to the screen with
an icon for each defined user.

On this particular computer, I have three users, me, wife and child.
The userIDs are not password protected and all have admin authority.
These are, respectively, Frank, Cath and Mary.

The login pop-up presents the names with an additional letter (the
first letter of our last name) as follows: FrankG, CathG and MaryG. It
signs in fine, or I can overtype with the defined userid, either way
seems to work.

Any clues what's going on here?
