I'm running on Windows XP, SP2 with a linksys wireless g router
and on broadband connection (just 1mb/sec). Well, I was
origianlly having problems with the explorer.exe file, so I ran
SpyBot SD, deleted some things, then ran system restore(could only
go back to the day before problem). Well, my explorer.exe doesn't
constantly crash anymore, but now when I try to access pages like
yahoo.com, search for something on google or ask, and many forum
boards, it starts the progress bar but doesn't go anywhere,
sometimes will get 1/2 the way full and stay there. I've ran every
free AV program and spybot, but they didn't find anything. I only
have one firewall...if that...running, I've cleared all
cookies/caches/etc., did the ipconfig /flushdns, ran sfc /scannow(
which at only one point prompted for the CD, but I don't have the
CD), and numerous other things. Obviously reloading the OS is out
of the question b/c I lost the CD(actually my dad did.). This
problem is really annoying and I need to get it fixed by saturday
for curtain reasons. Thanx in advance.
Note: I can view any web site in safe mode, just not in normal.
Another Note: After reseting IE to manufacturer defaults, I can
get on yahoo and other sites, but even after upgrading FF to 3.0,
it still can't load Yahoo
Try one of these freebies. Sometimes they fix problems like this:
LSPFix: <http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm>
Winsock XP Fix: <http://www.download3k.com/Install-WinSock-XP-Fix.html>
