Re: SP3, Satellite Internet and browsing issues

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hello and thank all of you for replying:

The only "software" that came with the dish was an optimizer and an FSecure
(anti-virus) which is optional. The fire wall was on during the update ( i
think).
I dont have any extra 3rd party software and such on my pc.

If I remove SP3 it does not show tht SP2 is on there. I tested tht on
another pc by removing SP3, rebooted and it does not show SP2. So i had to
reinstall XP with SP2.

I just cannot figure out why SP3 is causing so many browsing issues. I have
since downloaded Mozilla which works so much better that IE7/IE6 on another
pc. SP3 has just messed everything up. Maybe it is not compatiable with the
optimizer which helps regualte the fair access policy and such but i dont see
how tht can be.

Should the removal of SP3 automatically restore SP2 or is there another step
tht needs to be done for this?

Any insight is welcomed.

Thank you.

Hello mom2twoMN,

Just go into Control Panel and click on the Add or Remove Programs icon.

Scroll down and click on Windows XP Service Pack 3. Then click on the REMOVE
radio button.

Hello,

I have satelite internet service (i have had it for 1 year) and have had
no
issues with it in all aspects of the useage. When I downloaded SP3 for XP
lastweek i now have problems with my internet browsing. Everything seems
bogged down and runs slower than before. Pre-SP3 my internet was very fast
(well as fast as satelite can be) but post-SP3 i have had nothing but
problems.

What could have caused this issues after I down loaded SP3? The IP
provider
has assured me that the issue is with SP3.

How do I roll back my PC to SP2? I need some instructions if tht is
possible.
Thank you all very much, the sooner I roll back to SP2 the better things
will be.
